Holiday season

Nov 7, 2011

It is that time of the year again..one that I dread the most - FINAL EXAMS!
I've been really busy studying  in the past 2 weeks and could hardly find the time to update this blog. I haven't really been out of the house much either, same old routine day after day: Sleep, study, eat, sleep.

I did, however, managed to get 3 new things to brighten up my boring exam days:

1) a faux fur vest from Supertrash that you can find here and on the Outnet ( the picture on Supertrash website does not do the vest justice as the actual colour is darker and the faux fur is more smooth. Pictures provided on The Ounet are much more accurate). I have yet to wear it out as it is too warm now in Sydney but I will soon have a chance to do so =P

2) A new nail lacquer from Les Scintillances de Chanel Holiday 2011: Rouge Carat. The colour is absolutely GORGEOUS!! It's a stunning, rich and sparkly red that is perfect for the holiday season.

3) I finally got a new phone. My sister and brother in law gave me an Iphone 3G for my 18th birthday (4 years ago) and it's been my one and only phone ever since. Ofcourse every phone has its 'use-by' date and I've been so reluctant to change phones that I ignored that 'date' for over a year. My phone started to slow down, freezed for at least 10 sec each time I receive a call and went into headphones mode at random times without headphones being plugged in. Its operation got so slow to the point that every single game lags. I kept telling myself that I will let it RIP once Iphone 5 comes out, but ofcourse, it will be another 9-12 months until that happens. So yesterday, I went to the Apple store and I got myself an Iphone 4S. For those of you who got one, you probably already know about the battery problem. It is a downside but this phone is still 1000 times better than my old 3G.  I also got a really cute panda Iphone case =) and I've been having tons of fun with the photography apps on my phone.

These were taken using an app called Lemeleme and Instagram

Now onto even more exciting news: I will be going to the UK in December and will be in Paris for Christmas. I leave Sydney on 19th and arrives in London on 20th, which also happens to be my birthday. YAYYY!! This is actually a last minute plan as I have previously planned to stay in Sydney for Xmas and travel to the UK next year to see the exhibition of Msr.Louboutin’s work (as part of his 20th anniversary celebrations at the Design Museum in London). I know it will be extremely cold but I cannot wait to see London and Paris again. It's been such a long time since I was there last and ohhh the shopping!!!

Jimmy Choo ICONS collection

Oct 27, 2011

OK..so I'm not a peep-toe girl, in fact, I only have 2 pairs of peep toes in my entire shoe collection. But, I love love love the style Marlene from Jimmy Choo ICONS collection ( featuring 15 of the company's most iconic shoes) in celebration of Jimmy Choo's 15th-year anniversary. Rarely have I fell in love with a pair at first sight, especially by just looking at the stock pic, but this is it!

The style comes in violet and black. I personally love the violet version but the black is just as stunning. The combination of violet suede and light blue/aqua feather with a touch of crystals makes the shoes look so elegant and light. The sad thing is the heel height is 145mm and that is wayy out of my comfort zone, especially with slingback. My limit is 140mm and I am still struggling to master it.

These are available on Jimmy Choo online site and Net-A-Porter. 10% of net sales of the ICONS collection will be donated to the Jimmy Choo Foundation so hurry up and get yours!!

Night @ Hyde Park

Last night DBF and I went to my favourite Japanese restaurant, Sushi Tei. This restaurant chain is originated from Singapore and is extremely popular there, much more so than in Australia. I love going to Sushi Tei because they have the best sashimi salad which happens to be my fav (with their very own Sushi Tei dressing that tastes heavenlyyy), yummy mocktails and extremely good service.

Spring 2012 Bridal collection

Here are some of my favourite looks from Spring 2012 Bridal collections. I've always wanted my wedding dress to be a Vera Wang but now I'm not quite sure..her recent collections have fell short of my expectations, no matter how stunning the gown is, I think a wedding dress looks best in white, full stop. Carolina Herrera is fastly becoming my new favourite because her gowns are so elegant and not too heavy with the frills.

Monique Lhuillier
