UME RESTAURANT
DH and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary last Saturday. This year we decided to try Ume, a relatively low key restaurant in Surry Hills that offers only set menus of traditional and modern Japanese cuisine. The restaurant offers selections of five, seven or nine course degustation with optional matching wine and sake. We opted for the seven course menu (two of which I forgot to take photos of) which allowed us to taste a wide range of dishes without leaving the restaurant feeling stuffed at the end. Overall, I enjoyed most of the courses served on the degustation menu, service was outstanding and the cosy ambience of the restaurant was definitely a plus.
